The wait is over…
I’m happy to announce I will be reopening on Monday 6th July; here are my
(temporary) revised opening hours.
Monday, Wednesday,
Friday and Saturday – 6pm to 10.30pm
Sunday – 3pm to 9pm
Closed on Tuesday and Thursday
My approach to reopening is steady and cautious, like me,
you likely have anxieties and concerns. My overriding priorities are customer
safety and creating an environment that instils a feeling of well-being. Through
good practice, collective patience and respect for each other, we can head some
way back towards enjoying the simple pleasures the Red Lion has always had to
offer.
It’s great to be able to open my house to you once more, cheers!
Please take a moment to read some important customer information.
Feeling unwell?
If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or have been
asked to self isolate please do not enter these premises, stay at home and
follow government advice.
Whilst I enjoy the company of all my customers, the careless spread of
infection within an enclosed space, like the Red, could have a detrimental
impact to our community.
Recording of customer information
I will be required to temporarily hold customer details (for 21 days) to help the NHS Test & Trace program. I will record your name, a contact number and duration of visit in accordance with guidance. This information will remain confidential and will only be shared with a test and trace operative. All information will be held in local storage only (the Red Lion does not store information on a cloud based system).
Payment method - Please pay by contactless
I would like to actively encourage all customers to pay by contactless card payment. Where this is not possible, (lost card, transitioning to contactless etc.) cash will be accepted in the short term.
Venue capacity - 12 to 26 people
(Dependent of household group size)
The Red Lion has a reduced capacity due to social distancing measures. Where possible, two metres of separation have been applied between seating areas. Where two metres have not been reasonably viable, one metre with risk mitigation has been adhered to.
Table reservations - Please call 07871865118
Due to limited capacity I would strongly recommend reserving a table before travelling. Tables can be reserved for the whole evening or up to two hours in one of two approximate sittings; either early doors (from 6pm) or after the watershed (from 9pm). Sundays are 3 - 6pm & 6 - 9pm. Early doors’ customers will be required to have left their table twenty minutes before the next sitting, unless booked for the entire evening. Due to low capacity and high demand, tables not occupied within 30 minutes of their booking time will be reallocated. Tables will be reserved in the main bar and snug, please advice if you are intending to meet with one other household and I will try to ensure you are sat at neighbouring tables. The beer garden is also available for customer use but only if you have a table reserved indoors (this allows the provision for indoor seating in the event of adverse weather conditions).
Please use the hand sanitising stations
Practice good hand hygiene when in the Red Lion at all times. Use the sanitiser before entering and leaving the premises, when you visit the toilet and returning from the beer garden. Please also make use of the hand wash basins and disposable hand towels in the toilets. Remember to avoid touching your face and to cough or sneeze into a tissue (which is binned safely) or into your arm if a tissue is not available.
General information and guidance
The Red Lion is operating a table only service; you will not be permitted to stand at the bar at any time. Please only sit in your allocated seating area or outside and respect social distancing with other households at all times. Orders and payment will be taken at your table, along with drinks delivery and empty glass collection. If you are sitting in the garden you can phone your order in to me on 07871865118.
The layout of the pub has unavoidable customer pinch points. To help avoid congestion in the corridor please step back into safe areas to allow others to pass. The ladies toilet has a capacity of one person only and the gents can accommodate two people (one person only at the urinal and one in the cubical).
Dogs are still welcome at the Red Lion; however, you must keep your pet on a close lead at all times, ensuring they are not restricting any walkways or encroaching other table space. Please keep your dogs off the furniture and try to limit petting from outside your household.
Embrace your inner calm!
I know there is a lot to digest and new guidance to adhere to; clear information will be displayed throughout the pub to help you during your visit. Things will take longer as working practices have to be adapted so be patient, respectful to each other and embrace the necessary changes.
Regards,
Richard
