We sell craft ciders, real ales, cask beers & bitters from local craft micro brewers. Always stocking, Yorkshire Dales Brewing Company, Rowan Tree, best bitter (3.8% abv) at only £2.50pt; plus another local guest ale, bitter or cask beer also from only £2.50pt.

We’re situated 4 miles from Barnard Castle and 6 miles from Middleton-in-Teesdale in the historic North Riding of Yorkshire.

What's On


The winter months are occupied with local 'pub games' leagues. The Red Lion has two domino teams, competing in the 1st and 2nd division of the dominoes (5's & 3's) league and a darts team competing in the 2nd division.
