The cellar was bare after a cracking Easter weekend that had a mix of fine weather, ales and company.
Many turned out for Sunday’s charity quiz which saw some of the finest brains in Teesdale battle it out for first place. Eventual eggheads were some knowledgeable folk from Castle Players who very generously donated their winnings back into the pot. This made total funds of £269.54 and will be going towards local girl, Laura Hall and her gap year in Chile with Project Trust.
Many thanks to all who attended and to all those who generously donated raffle prizes. Further special thanks to Laura’s mum, Jo, for her superb quiz-master calling.

Good Friday saw the return of our annual darts knockout competition. Growing in popularity the ‘R.Hugill Darts Trophy’ once again returned back to Bowes. This year was the turn of Frank Donald who prevailed over Billy Atkinson in a gripping 5 leg final. We raised £54 for Dales Farmers on Tour who are cycling the ‘coast to coast’ later this year. They’re raising funds for four great charities, you can find out more at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Dales-Farmers-on-Tour/528284670623475?ref=ts&fref=ts
